HOW TO MAKE A DIRECT SPEECH 

We use reported speech when we want to repeat what someone had previously said. Let’s look at the difference between direct speech :

Direct annie said = “I am tired.”

When direct speech uses the past tense we do not need to make a change :

Direct john : “ I broke my arm.”

Reported : “john said that he broke his arm.”
